Ann Curry

Ann Curry was born in America and is an American photographer and journalist. Over the past forty-five years, she has concentrated her work on reporting human suffering, primarily when natural catastrophes or war are occurring. Curry was not able to attend one school in the cities of San Diego, Alameda Oregon or Virginia over the course of two years because her family was constantly moving. Ashland is where she finally completed the high school. Her career in broadcasting began with an internship with KTVL Channel 10 Medford in Oregon. at the age of 22, she eventually became the first female journalist at that station. Then she was promoted to the position of an anchor and reporter at KGW which was an NBC affiliate in Portland, Oregan. After four years, she relocating into Los Angeles as a reporter for the KCBS-TV. It was during her association with the channel for a period of six years that she received the two Emmy Awards.
