Mena Alexandera Suvari, born in 1979 is an American actress, model and fashion designer. Her birth date was 13 February 1979. Following a brief time as a model for fashion before moving into acting by appearing as a guest on TV shows such as Boy Meets World in the 1990s and High Incident. Her debut on film was the drama Nowhere which was released in 1997. Through her roles as a character in American Beauty - for which the actress was nominated to receive an award called a BAFTA Award - and American Pie, which garnered much attention, she transitioned into bigger roles. The year 2000 saw her appeared in American Pie alongside American Pie co star Jason Biggs. In 2001, she took on the leading part in Sugar & Spice (2000). Spun and Trauma, a thriller from 2004 were two of her appearances. She also was a guest in the HBO drama Six Feet Under. She received nominations for the Screen Actors Guild Award for 2005, as part of the Outstanding Ensemble. In 2008, she was featured in several films like Day of the Dead The Mysteries of Pittsburgh and the movie adaptation of The Garden of Eden. Suvari has been a model on behalf of Lancome Paris Adaptive, and she's been on a number of fashion blogs and magazines like Vogue. She's been an activist and supporter for the African Medical and Research Foundation. Additionally, she has been engaged in the issue of women empowerment as well as causes that are related to breast cancer and End Violence Against Women campaign.
